Growing Up

On May 13th, one of my childhood friends got married! Val Hartman ( now Alkema) She was a beautiful bride! Going to friends weddings really reminds me that we are actually growing up, sometimes it doesn't seem real that I have a child and that we are all getting married! Friday was a good day for looking back with fondness on childhood memories!
At Val's wedding I played a radioshow tape that we had made together when we were probably 9 years old! It truly portrayed the 80's with sayings like " I know you are but what am I?", "NOT" and featuring commercials we sang like "Zest" and "Pert Plus for kids" I smile just thinking about the fun that we had making it. Val married another friend of mine, Anton Alkema. I met Anton in Elementary school too, i think in Grade 6 or 7! What a great couple they are! Val and Anton, I wish you the Lord's blessing in your marriage!
