Babymoon in Niagara Falls!

This past weekend Eric and I took a short babymoon in Niagara Falls! We just wanted to have a nice weekend away before baby number 2! Aidan stayed with my parents and had a great time there!
We dropped Aidan off at my parents on Friday morning. From there we headed straight to Niagara Falls to our Bed and Breakfast, Absolute Elegance, to check in. We got a tour of the house, and it is a beautiful old house with a lot of character, and a huge backyard with a lot of nice gardens! We brought our bags upstairs to our room, and left straight away to head to the falls. OUr first stop was for some lunch in the cafeteria of the new casino. This place was huge and very elegant! After lunch we walked down the Maid of the Mist. ( Which was a much bigger walk than we thought, and I was starting to get very sore) The Maid of the Mist was awesome! It is so cool to see the falls at the angle and to be so close to them. We did get a little wet, and I got a little boatsick but it was worth it! After that we walked all the way back to our bed and breakfast to rest and shower before dinner. For dinner we went to a dinner theatre called Oh Canada Eh! It's a dinner theatre, that's a musical and a comedy. It was so much fun! It's a family style seating, and we sat with people from all over the world! It was a great time. Our waitress was just a hit! The actors and actresses are your waiters and waitresses. We highly recommend going to see this show! After dinner we headed down to the falls to drive past them to see them lit up at night. After that we headed back to our room for some much needed sleep!
Saturday morning we woke to the smell of freshly baked muffins and our breakfast! The breakfasts that were made for us at the bed and breakfast were very good! It was nice to just get up and go to breakfast and have someone serve you! After breakfast we got and the van and headed back down towards the falls. We managed to find a somewhat decently priced parking lot that included free fare on the people mover for as far as the falls. After riding the people mover for way too long......we forgot our tickets at the bed and breakfast and had to go back and get it, thankfully the people mover was free and the parking guys were nice enough to let us park in the lot again! Then we headed to Journey behind the Falls. It was neat to hear the rumble of the falls in the tunnels, but all you could see behind the tunnels was a wall of white water. There was a neat lookout though right at the bottom of the falls that had a great view! Next we headed for some lunch and then we walked to the Imax theatre. The movie was ok, but not really worth the money. We were glad that we had a special pass that pretty much let us watch it for free! After the movie we headed back to the van and then back to our room to get ready for dinner. Dinner tonight was to be at the Revolving dining room at the Skylon Tower. We had reservations for the early bird dinner ( the cheaper option) The view up there was just spectacular!! The unfortunate part was that the moving actually made me feel quite naseous and we had to go as soon as we were done eating! But it was worth it for the view and the tasty food! After dinner we drove around for a bit and went down Clifton Hill.
Sunday morning we had another delicious breakfast and then spent some time reading until church. We went to a little baptist church around the corner from the bed and breakfast. That afternoon we went to the Butterfly conservatory. It was very cool to see so many butterflies up close! Sunday night we just stayed in out room and watched a movie.
Monday morning....another delicious breakfast! After breakfast we packed up and checked out of the bed and breakfast. That morning we went to the Birds of the Lost Kingdom Bird Aviary (sp?) That was so cool! The first part was a small birds, and there were so many colourful ones! The second part was a nocternal section, and in there we got to see them feed the bats! That was neat to see, and they crawl for the food up the pole, and then when they eat it they hang upside down! We also learned a lot of neat facts about them! The third part was the main aviary. It was huge and had a big waterfall in it. In there were all the bigger birds like parrots. Also in there was a caged off area. In there were very colourful birds, I can't remember what they were called, but when you went in there they would land on you! Several landed on Eric as soon as we went in! I had some on me that were trying to get my watch off. For $2 you could feed them nectar and they would all land on you, but we didn't want to get pooped on!
After we were done our tour we went and found a Timmy's and headed to Burlington to pick up Aidan at my parents. He did really well there and it was good to see him again!
All in all we had a great relaxing and not so relaxing weekend!
