Eric's Hand and other misc.

I first just wanted to ask my readers for a few prayer requests:
For Shirley Vanderlaan's family. She passed away last week after a short and fierce battle with cancer.
For Tina Harsevoort's family. She passed away last week after a battle with cancer. She is also a friend of my mother in law.
For the Vanderven family with the recent news of their daughter Amryn. Please check their blog if you are interested in details.
For Eric's finger, that it may heal quickly ( I'll update later on about the surgery today)

Here's a few of our recent pictures.

The kids love to ride on Eric's feet. Anna is just starting to get the hang of it and she thinks it's great!

Here is our first snow fall. It wasn't much, but the kids were thrilled to see it! As soon as it started to snow Aidan asked if it was Christmas time now. He is very excited! We plan on going to cut a tree on Saturday. Eric will bring his sawsall as he only has one hand to use so a regular hand saw won't work so well!

Aidan has not been napping regularly anymore. The benefit is that he goes to sleep well at night, but the downfall is a grumpy boy in the afternoon. Here is what happens to him after a week and a half without a nap. It caught up on him and he fell asleep in Eric's chair at 3 in the afternoon!

He was falling over so I picked him up and snugged with him for a while. He even slept through Anna going up and down off my lap and sitting on him!

After a half hour, I put him on the couch so Anna would stop climbing on him and he slept there for a while too! Don't they look so peaceful when they are sleeping??

One day after Eric came home from work Anna wanted to dress up in some of his work clothes. It was really cute!

This past weekend we went to Ottawa for a visit. We had a good time...with the exception that I ended up with the flu on Sunday and felt awful all day. It was not a fun drive home, but thankfully the kids were SO good!

They have lots of snow there so Aidan and Lucas went outside to play! This was Aidan's first time for the year and he had lots of fun!

Tubby time!

These two are trouble in the tub.....there was a very wet floor when they were done!

Eric had surgery on his finger today. The doctor said that it was really good that he did it as the good part( bottom) of the nail bed was actually pushed under the top part so it would have been really painful to grow in. The doctor would like Eric to take 6 - 8 weeks off of work as his finger is very prone to frostbite because of his injury and he's afraid that he would lose the end of it. But...there is no way that we could afford that...so he is taking tomorrow off for sure, and we'll see after that. We just have to pray for mild weather for now! Tomorrow morning we will go to the home care clinic and learn how to change the dressings on it so that we won't have to have a nurse come everyday.....lets hope that it's not too gory and that we won't get too queasy! If it's really bad we will probably get the nurses to do it for a little while first. They got him a splint to go on it to protect it from bumps. It will be very sensitive without most of the nail. Eric is not feeling well at all tonight. We are not sure if it the codeine in the tylonel 3 or if he is getting the flu that I had. Lets hope that he will be feeling better soon!

That's all for now!

Poor Icky! Want an office job? I'll switch you for 6-8 weeks. As long as you can sell me a minimum of 12 cars in that timeframe. I think I can handle managing your framing crew. If they're a good bunch of guys then all I'd have to do is slam in the odd nail, get them coffees and congratulate them on a job well done where required. It'll help us both out?
Sound like a good offer?? :)
Happy Healing Icky! Happy Dressing wounds Becky! :)
