O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!

On December 1st we set up our Christmas tree. Our original plans were to go and cut one down on the saturday, but due to rain, we knew that Eric would need to work on Saturday so we went Thursday evening and picked one out (in the rain) at Canadian Tire instead. Aidan was really fascinated by the lights, and by having a tree in our house.

He also had a great time helping us put the ornaments on the tree.

Anna just loves to lie at the bottom of the tree and look at the lights sparking!

I just love the atmoshere that having a Christmas tree in the house creates!!

On Monday Aidan and I started a tradition that I always enjoyed doing with my mother. We made shortbread cookies! Aidan just had a blast, cutting out shapes, scooping balls onto cookie sheets ( all in a nice row:) and squishing them with a fork ( some I had to reroll because he pushed a little too far!) and putting sprinkles on. For the rest of the day he said more cookies please, because he wanted to make more!

On Tuesday we had our first snowfall of the year. It wasn't much but Aidan and I got bundled up anyways and went outside. We tried to make snowmen, but it wasn't packing snow. So he helped me shovel the driveway and we got out his sandtoys for him to dig in the snow with. I also made him a slide but he didn't want to go down it. We were outside for about an hour when I got cold and wanted to go it. Aidan had so much fun that he asked me for the rest of the day to go play in the snow!
